Immersive Education with Lopez and Orcas High School

Science classes from Lopez and Orcas High Schools just completed Friends’ Immersive Salish Sea Science Education program. Students experienced the marine food web through virtual reality technology, and they learned about science careers and how they can act to protect and restore the Salish Sea. Each class also took a trip to the beach to look for forage fish eggs. Funding was provided by the Keta Foundation, the Tulalip Tribes Charitable Fund, the Wheeler Foundation, and Friends Members.

It’s important to us that any organization we are involved with actually gets things done, and the work that the Friends takes on so capably really does make a difference.
