It’s Giving Tuesday! Donate, Protect, and Engage!

Happy Giving Tuesday!

Giving Tuesday reminds and encourages us all to give back and do good in our communities. Get involved, take action, and support the causes that matter to you!

If you are inspired to protect what you love in the San Juan Islands and the Salish Sea, please help Friends of the San Juans continue our mission-driven work for healthy seas, thriving orca, safe shipping, restored shorelines, environmental education, and so much more.

If you have already given support, written comment letters, and signed petitions, thank you! If not, today is the day to take action — donate, protect, and engage:

  • Donate to Friends to support our programs in the coming year and help us meet our $100,000 challenge match;
  • Protect the Salish Sea by going plastic free; and
  • Engage by signing the petition to oppose construction of the Robert Banks Terminal 2, which threatens the endangered species and fragile food webs of the Salish Sea.

Whether you live here year-round, visit occasionally, or have cherished childhood memories of the Islands, thank you for joining Friends of the San Juans in our efforts to protect and restore the San Juan Islands and the Salish Sea. And on this Giving Tuesday, thank you for giving back and doing good in your community.

I have supported the mission of the Friends of the San Juans through the years because it is a citizen-advocacy organization devoted to protecting, preserving, and restoring the natural shorelines and native habitats in the San Juans and surrounding waters through science and education for generations to come.
