You’re invited to march with us for the orcas in the 4th of July Parade!

Friends of the San Juans, San Juan Islanders for Safe Shipping and Orca Protectors will be marching in the Friday Harbor July 4 parade. Our message is “Protect What You Love.” Join us!

We have one (nearly) life size black foam-core fin for every living member of JKL pods, and two large banners; so we will need at least 80 people.

PLEASE RSVP to Liza at [email protected] or 360 378-3875 so we can get a count and keep you posted on details.

We need you and your neighbors, your friends, your visiting family, etc.

You may bring your sweet dog on a leash!

We will provide candy bags for kids, so if they march with us they’ll get more candy than if they were on the sidelines. We will also provide cold water for our marchers while we await the start of the parade.

Plan to arrive by 10:00 to choose your fin. Parade starts at 10:30. We are usually finished by 11:30 or noon.

Thank You!

The Friends of the San Juans are at the forefront in efforts to prevent oil spills from impacting the San Juans. They work to identify the threats and then work with the US Coast Guard, Ecology, and others to get the best oil spill planning and prevention efforts in place.
