Raven brings a strong background in user research, data analysis, and customer-centric strategy development to Friends of the San Juans. With expertise in the SAFe Agile framework, Raven applies critical thinking and project management skills to address complex challenges, including those in conservation.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Raven’s academic research emphasized the importance of inclusive and culturally competent communication strategies. By integrating Black and Indigenous methodologies, Raven has developed a culturally responsive approach that ensures equity and effectiveness in conservation initiatives.

In previous roles at First Command Financial Services and the Planet Venus Institute, Raven led initiatives that improved customer satisfaction while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. This experience informs their work at Friends, where Raven leverages user research techniques to understand community needs and develop balanced, impactful strategies.

Committed to community engagement, Raven has collaborated with nonprofit organizations to harness the power of research and analytics in support of meaningful change. By focusing on the intersection of community and conservation, Raven works to advance sustainable strategies that protect natural resources while uplifting local communities.

I look at the Friends of the San Juans as sort of like a guard dog. They are the first ones to bark if there is any danger to anything that needs protection. They are the ones that make the first sounds that say “Wake Up!”
