A Day of Action for the Salish Sea
Saturday, September 15
1 – 3 p.m.

Shaw Island Community Center, Blind Bay Rd., Shaw Island
$35 per person for people who want lunch (kids under 12 eat for free)
  • Learn about Governor Inslee’s Southern Resident Killer Whales Task Force and how you can get involved from Senator Ranker and our Marine Protection Program Director, Lovel Pratt.
  • Tour a beach restoration site on Blind Bay with our Science Director, Tina Whitman who will discuss how protection and restoration of forage fish and salmon habitat supports our Southern Residents.
  • Learn about actions you can take to protect what we love.
For those arriving early: Hike to Reef Net Point at 10:45 a.m. Meet at the Community Center.

The Friends of the San Juans are at the forefront in efforts to prevent oil spills from impacting the San Juans. They work to identify the threats and then work with the US Coast Guard, Ecology, and others to get the best oil spill planning and prevention efforts in place.
