Volunteer Spotlight: Dr. Manny Eusebio

Dr. Manny Eusebio models exceptional Green Boater practices and does so proudly and with the health of our larger community in mind! Manny and his wife, Chris, moved their family’s sailboat to Bellingham from Seattle, where he continues to support the health of children as a pediatrician with Peace Health. In Dr. Manny’s volunteer time, he has been actively volunteering for the US Coast Guard as a member of the USCG Auxiliary, deepening his maritime knowledge.

When asked why he prioritizes stewardship and “leaving a clean wake,” Manny, a biologist at heart, said, “Caring for the marine environment is foundational to caring for life on our planet."

Thank you, Manny, for all you do for Friends and the Salish Sea! Manny recently volunteered to captain his boat for a new Friends of the San Juans corporate partnership to highlight our Immersive Salish Sea education program, which serves all island high schools.

We chose to live on the westside of San Juan Island because of its natural beauty, and we want to preserve it for future generations. That’s where the Friends of the San Juans come in. Since their inception, they have been the guardians of the Salish Sea and this place we call home.
