Green Boating and Inslee at Kirkland Cannery Event

We were thrilled to host a successful Green Boating event at the historic Kirkland Cannery on January 23rd! It was an honor to have former Governor Jay Inslee and his wife Trudi join us for an inspiring afternoon focused on protecting our underwater ecosystems.

We are grateful to our host, Carl Bradley and friends, plus The Bradley Family Foundation, for their hospitality and generosity. We are honored that former Governor Jay and Trudi Inslee joined us, and we deeply appreciate all the work they have accomplished on behalf of underwater forests of kelp and eelgrass meadows. Special thanks as well to our funders and partners who joined us, including The Harder Foundation, Northwest Fund for the Environment, The Brooks and Suzanne Ragen Family Foundation, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Washington Conservation Action, OnBuoy, and Port of Seattle Commissioner Fred Fellemen. The Friends of the San Juans do such a wonderful job of keeping on top of things like the transit of freighters through the Straits and their impact on whales as well as protecting our environment. Jim and I fell in love with the islands, the wildlife, and fishing. We hope to preserve it, not only for our family but for other families, well into the future.
